Abstract

The research was conducted to measure students’ awareness of technoculture in industrial revolution 4.0. Descriptive qualitative research was performed on a group of university freshmen students who programmed English 1 course. The student had given learning materials both in physical and virtual forms. Observations and guided interviews on students’ awareness to use technology in completing their program were the instruments used in this research. The qualitative data analysis technique used was combining a rough material and detailed analysis. The aim was to generalize phenomena from several materials and cases. The results discovered that students’ technoculture awareness in English language class was good as far as reading instructions; however, the follow-up actions needed to be reinforced through reminders or notifications sent to the group in a periodical time.
